Our kids love looking at photos and videos of family members when we were all so young and beautiful. I worry sometimes the new means of storing all our precious family shots will mean, firstly, no-one looks at them much (how often do you really go back and look at your electronic albums) and, secondly, we risk loosing everything in one foul thunderstorm, dropped hard drive or spilled drink.
Pull out your old family albums and go through them with the kids. Explain who people are – after your gone they won’t have any idea the thin lipped old woman in the sepia shot is their great, great grandma Greta. It’s a lovely chance to chat and interact with the kids and pass on a bit of family lore.
