My good friend, CJ, was up for another visit this week. With so little time left we’re keen to spend as much as we can with him.
CJ has asked me to either sing or give the eulogy at his funeral. I’ve opted for the eulogy, as I don’t think I could get through a song. Why I think I’ll have more luck talking, I don’t know.
Anyway, it’s a privilege I intend to perform to the best of my ability. It will be an honour to tell people why he’s been my best friend for 25 years and why I think his time on this earth was so very special.
Today, CJ and I spent five hours playing two handed 500 and talking about old times. Bugger me, we had some fun.
It’s been a good week, but it’s hard to watch CJ slipping away.
