So you know how I’m a blogger who also happens to be a banker (with a ‘b’)? Well in three weeks that will change.
We were driving home from the Gold Coast a week ago when Tracey said she wanted to talk to me about my quitting work at the bank altogether.
“Okay,” I said.
“I just think you can focus on your blog and the doing housework,” she said earnestly, building up her argument. “And I really need more time for editing.”
“I said okay,” I repeated.
“I thought you meant okay you’ll listen.”
“I meant okay I’ll quit.”
“Well, that was easy.”
“Exactly what I’m thinking,” I grinned.
We’ve been transitioning me for about a year from full time to 4 days to 3, and stocking up on geeky tees, as my wife’s photography business kicked up a notch and this blog has been consistently paying for itself, with a little beer money to boot.
So that’s it. In less than a month I will officially be a Stay At Home Dad (the capitals are apparently super important) because Tracey’s rather sensibly decided she wants me home all the time – I tell people as a sex slave, but she tells people it’s for housework and school runs.
I’m hoping there’s some middle ground involved.
Bring on the next super adventure, I say!

Fabulous! Good for you. Looking forward to double the dose of blogs posts now 😉
I will try 🙂 might get boring all the ‘Bruce stuffs up again’ posts lol
Sounds great, Bruce. As a school teacher I get enough time at home throughout the year to remind me how damned hard it is. That’s without the regular routine of school, sports, after school stuff etc. Tip of the hat to you, sir. Good luck with it all. Great that you can now do what you do best: stuff up parenting and share it with the world in the most entertaining fashion. ??✌?
I am a lesson in parenting. The what not to do, generally.
Congrats!!! I wish you well with the next chapter – hope you still have plenty of time to blog all the fantastic material you will continue to gather haha 🙂
The kids are always very generous with their dumb.
Fantastic! What a great plan. You’ll have so many adventures! Or misadventures. ?
I’m sure there’ll be more of the latter lol
