It’s that time of the month when repayments from our previous KIVA loans come back into our account and we get to lend the money out to the next person. KIVA is a great tool to help kids realize how diverse the world is and just how lucky they are.

Smbat is 20-year-old proactive young man. He lives with his parents in Goris, Armenia. Smbat is engaged in agriculture and is the only breadwinner in the family. He keeps 8 cows, a calf, and 40 sheep.

He works on a farm, earning a very low salary, and his wife is a housewife who stays at home to care for the home and the children. Kiva works with microfinance institutions on five continents to provide loans to people without access to traditional banking systems.
Armando is married and the father of 9 children, 2 of whom are still in School. He lives in his own house with his family and supports 2 grandchildren who live with him.
He is a military pensioner and with this loan he intends to buy one head of cattle to put down and resell the meat
