Parmesan Dippers

cheesy bread

These wonderful dippers are just as nice to nibble on by themselves as they are to dunk into a dip. The garlic rub gives them a fantastic little zing which I love.

I’d made a batch of these up for the kids to snack on tonight while we watch a movie, when my parents arrived, clutching their whipper snipper, for a surprise cup of tea. Halfway through our cuppa’s I thought I’d address the white elephant in the room and ask why they’d brought the whipper snipper with them. Turns out they couldn’t start it and wanted to see if I could help them.

Considering I’ve owned three whipper snippers in my entire life, and they’d only ever been used once each because I could never manage to successfully change the cord, I thought this was a bit of a lark. But as luck would have it I did manage to start it for them (there was a safety switch hidden in the darnedest spot, right there on top of the machine) so my fence line got its first non-toxic tidy up in years.

This nice little whipper snipper story might have been unrelated to my nice Parmesan Dippers, only by the time I returned to the kitchen my parents had eaten them all.

Of course, if you’d rather watch footy you can always just buy from the selection of dippers and corn chips available at your local IGA.

You will need:

Turkish bread, 1 x 450g loaf

Olive oil for brushing, 100ml

1 garlic clove, whole

Parmesan cheese, 100gm

cheese bread

STEP ONE: Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

STEP TWO: Slice Turkish bread into thin slices, about 2 to 3 mm wide.

STEP THREE: Spread out on oven tray and brush each slight lightly with olive oil.

STEP FOUR: Bake for 5 minutes.

STEP FIVE: Rub bread lightly with garlic clove.

STEP SIX: Finely grate Parmesan onto each slice of bread.

STEP SEVEN: Bake for 5 minutes.

STEP EIGHT: Allow to cool and serve with favourite dip.

This has been a sponsored post for IGA 🙂 But the love of dips is all our own.
