Bruce’s 101 Recommended Reads.

I spotted the 1001 book list on Kat’s Place – A Blog About Me. The concept of a 1001 book list to work my way through is tempting although I think I’d probably have to chop and change a few titles – I notice, for example, an inexcusable lack of Dean Koontz and Dick Francis titles, and only one Agatha Christie.

The idea seems to stem from the following blog; Arukiyomi. Or at least one of the lists appears to have come from there.

It’s all inspired me to make my own 101 recommended reads list to share. I was going to go with 1001 but I’m not sure I could count that high, let alone have read that many books (even if you include the Dick & Jane series from primary school). Actually as it is I think I’ll struggle to name 101 books I’ve read and really liked.

  • You MUST read To Kill a Mocking Bird, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Wuthering Heights, The Iliad and 19 Minutes ( Jodi Picoult, it is not too ‘girly’) They would be my top 5 the others in top ten are in your list. ( I have read only a quarter of those!)

    • I tried Wuthering Heights when I was about 15, couldn’t get through the first two pages. Love the song but 😀
