Booksharing

After thoroughly enjoying the first two movies, Mum and I are reading through Stieg Larsson’s Millenium trilogy at the moment. Rather than race out and buy all three books Mum borrowed The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo of my sister in law, purchased The Girl Who Played With Fire (when all the library’s copies were out and reserved) and managed to borrow The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest. Rather than have me go out and round them all up she’s passing them on to me.

My job, as far as she’s concerned, is to come along behind her and explain the finer, more elusive (to her mind) points of the plots over a cup of tea and biscuits.

Miss4 was desperate for a book reading tonight, so rather than do it herself Tracey had Miss7 and Master6 pick and read to her. A total of 12 twelve books were devoured in a little over an hour.

As both these situations show, although primarily a solitary pastime, a love of books and reading is such a wonderfully social thing to have 🙂
